Biofuel Powered Rocket Might Become ‘Uber To Space’

BluShift is a company situated in Maine in the US that has launched a commercial biofuel that powered a rocket. This is the world’s very first ever biofuel rocket.

This prototype has been named ‘Stardust’. It has been designed for the purpose of accompanying small satellites as well as research projects to space. The company had launched its first rocket on 31st January 2021, Sunday in a sub-zero condition. Stardust has flown in the air at a height of 1,219 meters.

It flew in order to carry out a project for high school. An alloy of metal was tested by a company in New Hampshire along with Another Dutch stroopwafel.

Futuristic Biofuel Rocket

The Stardust rocket is almost 6 meters in length and weighs about 250 kilos. In addition, it is very inexpensive to fly a biofuel rocket. The company is hoping to help space research to become more accessible due to the fact that the rocket does not need the massive amount of infrastructure needed to launch other large rockets.

A more advanced version of Stardust is called Red Dwarf. It might enter orbit soon enough in the future. Red Dwarf will be able to carry a small 10 by a 10-centimeter satellite called Cube-Sat for 160 kilometers above the surface of the Earth.

Sacha Deri is the founder of bluShift. He has also invented this rocket biofuel. He has said that the idea appeared to him while he was sitting in his kitchen in the organic farm owned by his brother.

Biofuels are being increasingly used in the aviation sector and are a preferred mode of fuel now. bluShift is the company to create this in a commercial manner.
