Notion Mail has officially launched, introducing a fresh productivity tool from the Notion team designed to enhance your email experience with AI, all while offering a sleek and minimalist interface.
Notion Mail expands the Notion productivity suite
The era of Notion being solely a notes application is over.
With the prior introduction of Notion Calendar, Notion Mail arrives as a third productivity tool in the lineup.
Here’s how Notion describes it: “the inbox that organizes itself, drafts emails, and schedules meetings however you prefer.”
As expected, AI plays a significant role in the Notion Mail experience.
For instance, David Pierce from The Verge notes:
One of Notion Mail’s standout features is its AI-driven organization. When you access an email, a button appears at the top of the thread allowing you to “auto label similar.” Clicking it prompts Notion’s AI to scan your inbox for related messages—not just by sender or subject but by assessing the content and context of the emails. You can also create labels through a chatbot-style prompt, giving you suggestions to choose from for labeling your current thread. Moving forward, any new email that matches this category will automatically receive the designated label.
This appears to be a robust feature, exemplifying the type of AI enhancement I hope to see in future updates of Apple Mail.
Currently, Notion Mail is in its infancy, accessible exclusively via the web or through its Mac application. Notion has indicated that an iOS version is “Coming soon.”
At the moment, Notion supports only Gmail, but additional compatibility is expected in the future.
