Oura Ring Generation 3

Oura Ring Generation 3 Review

Since 2015, Oura has been producing smart rings, and the Oura Ring Generation 3 is currently one of the most advanced and well-liked options available. Oura’s experience demonstrates that the Oura Ring Generation 3 is the greatest smart ring you can buy right now, despite the price and the fact that the form factor is still constrained in comparison to a smartwatch. However, whether that translates into a positive experience for you depends on what you anticipate from a wearable.

Oura Ring Generation 3 Is An Improvement

The price of the Oura Ring Generation 3 is $299. The price can go up to $549 depending on the style and finish you want, but each version’s functionality is the same. The Oura Ring was formerly exclusively available directly from Oura, however, it is now also sold by Best Buy.  There are two different types of the Oura Ring Generation 3.

The older Horizon, which is totally circular due to a curved battery cell, and the Heritage, which has a flat point on the top of its exterior to fit its battery. The Horizon model I’m testing has a gold finish and a startling $499 suggested retail price. The flat portion on the top side of the ring lends a little character to the Heritage design, which I find to be more appealing than the updated Horizon.

I find the featureless Horizon style to be a touch too bland. It resembles a large wedding band. Even with a completely round body, the Oura Ring is hardly inconspicuous, despite the fact that its simplicity may be a strength in a device that you’re expected to wear 24 hours a day, every day. It measures roughly two millimeters thick, which is significantly thicker than typical metal rings. In contrast to many tech-related wearables, it doesn’t scream gadget.
