The Witcher 3 Sells Over 50 Million Copies

In the upcoming years, The Witcher’s sales figures will increase significantly. A new The Witcher trilogy, a remake of the original Witcher game, and a spinoff game under the codename “Project Sirius” are all currently in development by CDPR.

The company has just indicated that it is reevaluating The Witcher 3 and has several additional Witcher games planned.

We can only hope that these new games do better than Cyberpunk 2077 at launch, even though CDPR has significantly improved that game and published a next-generation patch for it in February 2022.

Soon, we’ll learn a lot more about Cyberpunk 2077: Idris Elba will appear in the game’s upcoming big expansion, Phantom Liberty, at the invitation-only Play Days event at Summer Game Fest in June, CDPR also said on Monday.

The Witcher 3 Creates History

Even though the third season of its Witcher TV series hasn’t yet begun streaming on Netflix, the streaming service is placing a significant wager on the success of The Witcher franchise.

Henry Cavill‘s performance as Geralt will end with the third season, and Liam Hemsworth will take over at the start of season four. It featured the monster hunter and stoic charmer Geralt and, like the previous two, was based on a series of fantasy novels about the persona.

The richness of its sizable open world is what made The Witcher 3 stand out from other games in 2015 and what helps it shine now.

Almost every area of the map has been well planned out and is teeming with fascinating, well-written characters and side missions.

And as of 2023, it is quite evident that this game is unique, having sold somewhere over a billion copies since its debut. And it’s catching up to Red Dead Redemption II, which is currently ranked eighth. Around 53,000,000 copies of Rockstar’s open-world cowboy game have currently been sold. The Witcher 3 has sold so many copies that, similar to GTA V, it has begun to outsell whole franchises.
