The Last Of Us I Remake Set To Release On Sept 2

At Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest, we got a complete, official glimpse of The Last of Us Part 1, as well as a smidgeon of fresh information on the impending Last of Us multiplayer game (opens in new tab). Unfortunately, the Summer Game Fest section did not provide any more information on when the “in-development” PC version will be released. Given Naughty Dog‘s guarantee that it is being worked on, it is likely to be completed sooner.

Things changed sometime along the road, with Naughty Dog confirming in 2019 that multiplayer will not be included. Sony’s The Last of Us Part 1 remake has leaked, revealing one of the industry’s worst-kept secrets.

The Last Of Us Details Leaked

So, yeah, that is true. Not only is it genuine, but it will also be available on the PlayStation 5 on September 2 for a retail price of $70.

With this announcement came a brand-new teaser, which gave us our first glimpse at the remake in action. We also learn after the trailer that the remake will be released on PC at some point, though no specific date is specified.

The previously anticipated multiplayer component of The Last of Us Part 2 will be released as a stand-alone game, according to Naughty Dog co-president Neil Druckmann, who announced Summer Game Fest on Thursday. Naughty Dog is not ready to discuss much of the game yet, according to Druckmann, but he did have some concept art to show off, depicting two protagonists staring out over a post-apocalyptic metropolis.

The standalone multiplayer game, according to Druckmann, would be “as huge as” and “in some ways greater” than the developer’s single-player titles.
