Apple and iPhone are expected to have another busy year in 2022. The iPhone 13 is now the most popular smartphone, and the next-generation model will be released in September. Based on leaked images and schematics, a number of speculations have been made regarding the iPhone 14. If Apple’s track record is any indicator, the iPhone 14 range will be a smash, though there may be some tweaks this year. This time, the iPhone 14 mini will not be available. According to reports from Nikkei Asian and Bloomberg, the iPhone 14 mini will be discontinued. Apple will continue to offer four distinct i14 models, two on the high end and two on the cheap end.

iPhone 14 Series Will Not Feature A Mini

The i14 small, on the other hand, will be replaced by the Max, which will allegedly sport a 6.7-inch display. A less expensive variant with a huge screen. Expect the i14 to have a notch-free display for the time being. Apple might unveil the iPhone 14 with a hole-and-pill-shaped display, according to renders released in recent months. The display can be found on various Android handsets, but the i14 will be the first to include a punch-hole-shaped notch. The special display was initially introduced by Apple with the iPhone X in 2017. It has since remained standard on all iPhones.

Apple will be able to provide a bigger display while also still leaving plenty of room for a front-facing camera thanks to the hole-punch cut-out. The enhanced camera system on the top-end iPhones, with both the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max receiving a 48-megapixel rear camera, is another solid rumor that has remained persistent. Previous rumors suggested that the whole iPhone series will be updated to the future A16 chip, which would be an advance above the current A15 chip. However, according to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the A16 will only be found in the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, while the 14 and 14 Max will continue to use the A15.
